In this guide we will see how to replace the spark plugs on the Smart ForFour 1.1 petrol. Let's start by opening the engine compartment, remove the casing with the word Smart by unhooking it upwards. To create some useful space for our work phases, we remove the upper part of the filter box, first loosen the metal clamp that holds the intake pipe, using a flat screwdriver or a 7 screwdriver. While we are working, it is advisable to cover the filter box and the mouth of the air tube with a cloth, to prevent dirt, bolts or other from ending up in the intake circuit, causing damage to the engine. Now we unscrew the coil bolt with a female torx wrench or with a ratchet 8 and remove the coil, finally with a 16mm spark plug wrench we take out the spark plug (if you have to buy it, choose a wrench that has the part that holds inside the candle, so when you get the key out of the hole, the candle will also come out). Repeat the operation for all 3 cylinders.
