Replace the Alternator Belt on a Smart Car

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007

To access the alternator on a Smart 450, you need to remove the right rear wheel. Loosen the bolts, lift the vehicle, and then remove the bolts followed by the wheel. Remove the two clips securing the plastic cover and take it off as shown in the video. Loosen the two upper and front bolts of the alternator, and when the alternator belt is no longer under tension, remove it. The video also shows how to replace the air conditioning compressor belt as the procedure is similar. Proceed in reverse for reassembly. Good luck!
