Removing the Rev Counter on the Smart Fortwo 450

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007

In this video, you will see how to remove the rev counter located in the centre of the dashboard on the Smart Fortwo 450, first series, by following these simple steps. First, get inside the vehicle and start by removing the central part of the dashboard; then remove the plastic cover found under the rev counter and unscrew the fastening screws located beneath it using a Torx screwdriver, as shown in the video. At this point, disconnect the electrical connector to completely remove the rev counter; you can then replace it with a new one if necessary and reassemble everything!
