How to Remove the Rev Counter from a Smart?

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007

To remove the rev counter from a Smart, use a flat screwdriver to lever in the groove that separates the panel with the hazard light button from the rest of the dashboard. Once this panel is lifted, disconnect its connectors at the back and remove it: under the panel, there will be three Torx screws securing the rev counter in its housing. By unscrewing these screws and disconnecting the connector, you will be able to completely remove the rev counter from its housing, allowing it to be replaced with a new spare part.
