Guide to replace the thermostat of the Smart Fortwo 800 Diesel

In this video we will see how to remove and replace the coolant temperature thermostat of the Smart Fortwo 800 Diesel. First, let's move to the rear to access the upper part of the engine; after which we begin to disconnect the electrical connector of the thermostat. At this point we remove the coolant hose from under the car, loosening the metal clamp, letting it drain into a container; then unscrew the screws of the thermostat, using an 8 mm socket wrench. We just have to remove it and replace it with the new one!
