Replacing the remote battery of the Smart ForTwo is a very simple and quick task. You will need a small flathead screwdriver and a replacement BR1225 3V battery.

Insert the screwdriver tip into the indicated slot at the top of the remote and lever it open. To remove the old battery, use the screwdriver tip again, then insert the new battery with the positive terminal facing upwards and reattach the rear cover.
