F1 steering wheel installation on Smart Passion 450

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007
Part: Transmission

To install the F1-type steering wheel, or with the gearshift paddles behind the spokes, on the Smart 451, in addition to the steering wheel, an interface control unit is also required to be connected under the original gear lever; after freeing the central tunnel, lift the console of the gear lever and interpose the interface control unit as a bypass, taking care to pass the cable that must go behind the steering wheel through the dashboard; once the control unit has been positioned, unscrew the steering wheel fixing pin in order to remove it and access the wiring to which the wire coming from the control unit can be connected following the wiring diagram. Once the connections are complete, fix the f1 steering wheel with the paddles to the steering column and start the engine to check its operation.
