Instrument Cluster Replacement on Smart 450

Model: Smart Smart 450 - Years 1998-2007

Open the door and access the driver's seat. The instrument cluster is a single unit located above the steering column. Locate the 4 screws securing the plastic cover under the steering. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the aforementioned screws, at which point the upper instrument cluster is free and can be removed. Identify the two electrical connectors located beneath the cluster and disconnect them. Take the new instrument panel and reconnect the power connectors, then reposition the cluster above the steering column and proceed to reattach the 4 screws.
