Where is the Engine Control Unit Located in a Smart ForTwo?

In this video, you can see where the engine control unit is located in the Smart ForTwo and how to proceed if you need to remove it. As shown, it is situated inside the engine compartment, on the left side, and is accessible by first removing the boot floor panel. Once this is done, disconnect all the indicated connectors to clear the area, unscrew the ECU mounting screws with a Torx T20 spanner, and extract it from the housing. To install a replacement, simply follow the reverse procedure.
