How to disassemble the engine control unit of the Smart Fortwo

In this guide, we will see step-by-step instructions on how to disassemble and replace the engine control unit (ECU) of the Smart Fortwo. First, we open the rear hatch and the right side door; then we remove the side panel behind the seat, also removing the plastic side mount and levering on the sides, as shown in the video. At this point, we unscrew the ECU screws, disconnecting the various electrical connections to remove it; we repair or possibly replace it, following the video tutorial to the end!
