This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to remove and replace the Engine Control Unit (ECU) of the Smart Fortwo. First, open the boot and the right side door; then remove the side trim located behind the seat by taking off the plastic side mount and prying it off the sides, as shown in the video.

At this point, unscrew the ECU screws, disconnect the various electrical harnesses to remove it; carry out the repair or replace it, following the video tutorial to the end!
