Model: Smart Smart 451 - Years 2007-2015
Part: Cylinder head

To disassemble and replace the cylinder head or its gasket of the Smart Fortwo with a 1.0 petrol engine, it is necessary to remove the engine block from the chassis; the cylinder head must also be disassembled for the replacement of the timing chain. Once the engine is lowered, we will first remove the spark plugs and the intake manifold, and then remove the cylinder head cover; disconnect the various wiring and unscrew the cylinder head bolts to remove it. Now we proceed with the replacement of the gasket and, if necessary, the timing chain, following the video tutorial until the end!

How to Replace the Fuel Pump on an Opel Corsa C

Usually, upon the first ignition of the dashboard, a sound similar to a spray can be heard from the rear of the cabin: this is the fuel pump pressurising the system and preparing to supply fuel to the engine for ignition; if this sound is not heard, start by checking the integrity of the relevant power fuse, and if it is intact, verify that voltage reaches the power connector; if current is present, you can also try powering the pump directly to confirm it is faulty; replacing it is very simple, just disconnect the connector and hoses, then unclip the retaining ring and remove it to replace it with a new one.
