Identify the main steps to remove and replace the timing chain on the Smart Fortwo; to access and replace the chain, you will need to remove the entire engine block from the chassis. Disconnect the various wiring harnesses and remove the intake manifold by unscrewing the fixing bolts; then remove the crankshaft pulley and disconnect the auxiliary belt, followed by unscrewing the cylinder head cover to remove it, as shown in the video.
