If the instrument cluster of the Smart shows a flashing letter N, it means that the automatic gearbox has a fault. To temporarily resolve this issue, you can engage a gear when the engine is off. Then, with the gear engaged and the ignition key in position two, push the car to start it. Once the clutch is released during the pushing operation, the car will start.
