If the cigarette lighter socket in your Subaru Outback has suddenly stopped working, first check the status of the corresponding fuse, which is located as shown in this video. The fuse in question is found in the fuse box inside the cabin, specifically behind the small cover located in the lower left area of the dashboard on the driver's side.

It is a 10A fuse and is the second in the third row when looking at the box from the front. If faulty, ensure you use a replacement with equivalent specifications and always operate with the vehicle switched off.
