Subaru Outback - Video tutorial

Model: Subaru Outback BM, BR, MK 4 - Years 2009-2014
Part: Spark plugs
Operation: How to remove and replace spark plugs

This video tutorial shows how to replace the spark plugs on a Subaru Outback. The procedure is not very simple as the candles are placed in positions that are a little awkward to reach. The first two are located on the right side of the engine; in this case the electrical connector has already been removed, so the spark plugs are extracted by unscrewing them with a screwdriver and a 10 mm Allen bit. Once extracted they can be replaced with two new candles. The other two spark plugs, located on the opposite side, are covered by the intake manifold. Therefore it will be necessary to disassemble the latter first. Now, to remove the electrical connection of the spark plugs you will have to unscrew the bolts that keep them fixed and, subsequently, detach the clip from the connection itself. Now these two spark plugs can also be extracted and replaced using the screwdriver and the Allen tip. In the last few minutes it is also shown how to carry out the operation of extraction or tightening of the candles at a distance; a ratchet wrench is used connected to an extension with a pocket for candles at the end.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
