How to Remove the Radiator from a Subaru Outback

Model: Subaru Outback BL, BP, MK 3 - Years 2003-2009

In this video, let's see how to remove the radiator. Secure the car on a column lift, raise it to the desired height, and begin by removing all the plastic undertrays. Using a screwdriver, unscrew the bolts under the radiator and drain the fluid into a container. Disconnect the radiator hoses with pliers and unscrew all the steel clips with a screwdriver. Disconnect the electrical connector of the radiator's thermoswitch. Lower the car to the ground and remove the cover at the top of the engine bay. Detach the coolant hose by unscrewing the clips and the reservoir. Use a socket wrench to unscrew all the bolts securing the radiator and pull it out of the engine bay. At this point, remove the cooling fans from the radiator and mount them onto the new radiator, ensuring they are installed the same way. Insert the new radiator into the engine bay and secure it with all the relevant clips, hoses, and the reservoir. Always pay attention to the position of the steel clips. Raise the car again with the lift and reattach all the hoses at the bottom with the clips. Finally, reassemble all the panels in the engine bay and top up the reservoir with new coolant.
