To reset the trip odometer on the Subaru Forester, turn on the ignition by inserting the key into the ignition switch. Once the ignition is on, repeatedly press the button located at the bottom right of the instrument cluster until "Trip A" appears.

When this label and the distance travelled are displayed, press and hold the same button for a few seconds to reset the trip odometer, then turn off the ignition.
