How to Replace the Timing Belt on a Suzuki Jimny

Loosen the tensioner bolt with a double-ended spanner (15x16 or 16x17), as you won't be able to access it otherwise. This hexagon is 16mm and is located in a hidden position, just behind the pulley. This will relieve the tension on the belt, allowing you to remove it easily. To fit the new belt, simply reverse the procedure. There is a sticker under the bonnet of the Jimny showing how to route the belt over the pulleys. If it has faded or been damaged, you can easily find it online. Once you have re-tightened the tensioner, the belt will tension itself automatically.
