How to Replace the Oil and Oil Filter on the Suzuki Vitara

To replace the oil and oil filter on the Suzuki Vitara, start by raising the front of the car, unscrew the oil filler cap, go underneath the car, and using a T45 Torx key, unscrew the oil drain plug and let the oil drain into a container; while the oil is draining, go back to the car and unscrew the oil filter housing with a 27 mm socket, being careful not to let the oil spill; once the filter housing is unscrewed, detach the old filter from the housing and remove the housing seal; now take the new filter and the new seal for the cap, install the seal and the new filter, and screw it back into place; after the oil has drained and the filter has been replaced, go underneath the car and screw the oil drain plug back in; now insert a funnel into the oil filler cap, pour in the litres of oil specified by the manufacturer, when you are close to the specified litres check the level with the dipstick (the level should be checked a second time after removing the dipstick) if the oil level is at the max mark, the level is correct, otherwise top up and finally screw the oil filler cap back on.
