Removing the Steering Tie Rod End

To remove the tie rod end (or ball joint) from the steering box, lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift and remove the front wheel; start by loosening the lock nut on the tie rod, located just behind the end; then proceed to remove the fastening nut of the ball joint pin on the hub, without completely removing it, so you can give a few taps with a hammer on the pin itself without damaging it; once the end is extracted from the hub, unscrew it from the tie rod, making sure to count the number of turns: this is useful because the new end must be screwed in the same number of turns to maintain a reference for the alignment.
