We can see in this video how to proceed if, suddenly, the fuel door no longer opens with the release lever. First, we need to keep the release lever in the "open" position, using a wedge or a thick piece of cardboard. We approach the fuel door and press on the other side of the door. This should cause it to open because we have the spring that pushes the door outwards: we see that the return spring is broken, and therefore it no longer opens with the traditional system. We can easily find the spring, for example on AliExpress with the code 1005006405178431 at a price of 3.98 euros, with free delivery (always checking compatibility with your car). We replace the damaged return spring and now the fuel door opens normally.
