In this video we can see how a cabin air filter should not be installed: it may seem like a harmless operation, but it can lead to several problems, some of which can affect the comfort and functionality of the vehicle's ventilation system, such as reducing the airflow entering the cabin, and both the air conditioning and heating may take longer to reach temperature. Furthermore, the filtration will definitely be compromised, as the air could bypass the filtering material and accumulate mold and bacteria inside the ducts, causing unpleasant odors in the cabin. In extreme cases, a filter installed like the one in the video could obstruct the movement of the fans, causing malfunction.
