What is Traction Control and Why Disable It

This video explains what traction control is and the reasons we might want to disable it. In this case, it is a Toyota Camry, but the reasons are the same across all vehicles and brands. Traction control is preset in all vehicles, so we can only turn it off by pressing the dedicated button, but be careful: this is an operation we must repeat every time we start the vehicle. When traction control is active, the vehicle will stay on the intended path, will not skid, and will have better grip on the road. So why would we want to give up this feature? If we are stuck in snow, for example, and want to move the vehicle back and forth: disabling traction control will allow us to get through that fresh snow; the same applies if we are stuck in mud or if we are climbing a slippery hill.

How to Open a Stuck Boot on the Peugeot 407?
