How to Change the Spark Plugs on a Toyota Aygo

The video shows the complete procedure for replacing the spark plugs on a Toyota Aygo 1.0 3-cylinder. First, remove the upper cover of the air filter, which is secured with clips. Lift it off and set it aside. Then, disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition coils. To do this, press the latch and pull back the connector. In some cases, they may be stuck, so use a flat screwdriver to pry them off. At this point, remove the coils. Each coil is secured with a 10 mm bolt. Use a 10 mm socket and an electric driver to remove the bolts, then lift the coils. The spark plugs are now accessible. To extract them, use a 14 mm socket. The new spark plugs (laser iridium, good for about 30,000 miles; we found them on eBay with code 116720255336 for £64.96, with free delivery) were hand-tightened to avoid damaging the threads. Once in position, tighten them with the electric driver and then give a final tighten with a standard spanner for safety. Finally, refit the coils, replacing the 10 mm bolts and reconnecting the electrical connectors. Then, replace the air filter cover, ensuring it clips in correctly, and secure the clips.
