Removing and Cleaning the EGR Valve on a Toyota Avensis

In this video tutorial, you will learn how to clean the troublesome EGR valve on a Toyota Avensis. Open the bonnet and remove the upper cover: unscrew the upper bolts of the valve as shown in the video, using a socket spanner. Remove the plastic shield in front and disconnect the manifold pipe. Unscrew the four upper screws of the valve and remove the gasket, then proceed to remove the EGR valve. For cleaning, use a dedicated EGR valve cleaner and also clean the area where the valve attaches from exhaust gas residues.
