How to Replace the EGR Valve in a Toyota Yaris

To replace the EGR valve in a Toyota Yaris, open the bonnet and allow the engine to cool completely. Locate the EGR valve, positioned on the side of the engine and connected to the intake manifold and the exhaust gas circuit. Disconnect the electrical connector and, if present, the hoses connected to the valve. Then unscrew the fixing bolts and remove the valve, taking care with the gasket. Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly, removing any dirt or residue, then install the new EGR valve with a new gasket. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque, reconnect the electrical connector and any hoses removed earlier. Finally, start the engine and check for exhaust gas leaks or warning lights on the dashboard, ensuring that the engine operates smoothly.
