EGR Valve Cleaning

The EGR valve recycles exhaust gases (in internal combustion engines) by recirculating a "small" portion (5-15%) of the exhaust gases from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold to reduce some of the pollutants present in the exhaust gases. Locate the valve and remove the connecting pipes by taking off the hose clamps. Using a socket wrench, remove the retaining bolts at its base. Carefully remove the valve from its housing. Once extracted, proceed to clean it using appropriate sprays or, with the help of a brush, use solvents capable of eliminating all deposits.
