How to Adjust the Handbrake on the Toyota Yaris?

To adjust the handbrake on the Toyota Yaris, completely remove the centre tunnel panel of the car. To do this, loosen the screw located at the back of the panel, just behind the handbrake lever. Once the screw is loosened, lift the panel to access the handbrake mechanism underneath. You can then tighten or loosen the nut on the handbrake lever. Tightening it will reduce the travel and make the lever stiffer, while loosening it will increase the travel and make the lever softer.
