How to Replace the Rear Wheel Bearing

Model: Toyota Yaris Xp10 - Years 1999-2005
Part: Bearing

After positioning the car on one or more axle stands, remove the affected wheel. Using a rubber mallet and a screwdriver, extract the brake drum. You will also need 8mm bolts to use as extractors by screwing them into the appropriate threads.
Apply some penetrating oil to the rear bolts holding the bearing to the hub and unscrew them, taking care not to grease the brake shoes. Use the mallet to complete the removal of the old bearing and proceed with the installation of the new one.
The tools required for the operation are:

- Penetrating spray
- Rubber hammer
- 12mm spanner and socket
- Flat screwdriver
- Torch
- 8mm bolts
- Jack and axle stands

The video refers to a Toyota Yaris, but the procedure is similar for all vehicles with rear drum brakes.
