If you notice that the coolant in the reservoir has turned brown, rust may have formed within the system, and it will be necessary to replace the fluid and possibly flush the system. Begin by unscrewing the reservoir cap and placing a container under the oil sump: just in front of the oil sump is the valve for draining the fluid. Consider filling the system with distilled water and draining it to perform a flush. Then close the drain valve and refill the reservoir with the appropriate antifreeze using a ready-to-use solution.
