The PCV valve (Positive crankcase ventilation) has the function of introducing the gases generated by combustion back into the combustion chamber rather than disperse them in the air with obvious consequences for the environment, since these gases are in any case contaminated by oil and diesel vapors. unburned; the phenomenon is known as blow-by (literally it means "to blow through") and is the phenomenon that occurs when the gases in the combustion chamber are under maximum pressure and part of them pass through the piston rings and reach the lower part of the monobloc. This phenomenon leads to an increase in pressure under the piston crown and throughout the crankcase, thus generating an obstacle during the descent of the piston itself. Therefore, during the normal checks of the liquid levels, it is also possible to clean and check the operation of this valve.
