If the cigarette lighter socket in your Toyota Auris has suddenly stopped working, first check the status of the respective fuse, the location of which is indicated in this video. As shown, the fuse in question is located in the box inside the cabin, specifically below the glove compartment on the passenger side.

It is labelled F23 and is rated at 15A. If faulty, ensure you replace it with a spare of equivalent specifications and always work with the vehicle switched off; otherwise, you may damage the socket itself.
