To replace the rear light bulb on a Toyota Corolla, open the rear hatch: the light assembly will consist of a part on the hatch and one on the rear wing. The bulb on the hatch can be replaced simply by removing the internal protective panel and disconnecting it from its connector.

The bulb on the wing can be removed by detaching the rivets that secure the internal lining of the hatch, thus accessing the inside of the light: the bulb can then be extracted and replaced with a new one.
