The procedure for replacing the timing chain on the Toyota Yaris involves extracting the engine block from its housing so that access can be gained to its left side where the chain is located. The chain can be removed from its housing by loosening the bolts that secure the tensioner: in this way, its tension will be reduced and it will be possible to remove it from the corresponding gears. After the old chain has been removed, the new one can be inserted, securing the tensioner and verifying that the engine turns correctly.
