How to reset a Sony Xplod car radio

The Sony Xplod car radio in the video is locked and the volume cannot be adjusted, tracks changed, etc. There are several methods to unlock it. The first is to disconnect the car battery (both the negative and positive terminals) for about 15/20 minutes. This reset clears temporary locks. Another method is to remove an internal fuse located behind the car radio for 10 minutes. In this case, we need to take the radio out of its housing and look for the fuse located at the back, on the circuit board. Remove it and wait 10 minutes before reinserting it. Some Xplod models have a small reset hole on the front panel. We can insert a paperclip inside to press the button located at the bottom. If the buttons are unresponsive, they may be dirty or oxidized, so let's try disassembling the front panel, cleaning the conductive rubber contacts of the buttons with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab, drying them well and reassembling. It may be that the radio was in "demo" mode or security lock, showing the words "code," "lock," or "sec," and we need to enter the 4-digit unlock code found in the onboard documentation.
