How to eliminate the squeak from the clutch pedal

Let's see how to solve the problem of a squeaky clutch pedal: the first thing to do is identify the type of noise: if it is a sort of squeak, it is due to friction between plastic parts or on the piston of the master cylinder. If it is a metallic "click," it indicates wear on the nylon bushings of the pedal or the activation lever. In the first case, we clean the area around the piston stem, apply silicone spray by spraying it first on a cloth and then spreading it on the stem. If we use grease, we apply a small amount to the moving stem. We move the pedal several times to distribute the lubricant and the squeak will disappear. Do not use WD-40 or petroleum-based sprays, as they damage rubber seals, drying and swelling them; lithium or copper greases are also not suitable. If the problem is worn bushings, we disassemble the pedal, disconnect the clutch switch sensor, and replace the nylon bushings, which should be lubricated with specific silicone grease, and then reassemble everything.
