How to Replace a Windscreen Wiper Blade

Here’s how to replace the rubber blade (i.e., the wiper) of the windscreen wiper, rather than the entire arm. Take the wiper arm and detach it from the glass for easier access. At the ends, there are "teeth" that hold the blade in place within the wiper structure. Use a pair of needle-nose pliers to widen these two teeth, which, once widened, will allow the blade to detach, sliding it out of the metal guides along its length. Be careful not to break them! Take the replacement blade (which is sold in universal cut-to-size packs) and cut it to the correct length by comparing it with the old one. Insert the new blade into the metal guides, ensuring it is fitted in the same direction as the old one, and then close the teeth that were previously widened. Reattach the wiper to the glass and perform a functionality test.
