Let's see how the temperature sensor circuit works: electrical energy is supplied by the battery; the ignition key acts as a switch, while the fuse is a safety component. If too much current passes through the circuit for any reason, the fuse will blow, interrupting the flow and protecting the more delicate components. The temperature sensor, located above the fuse, is the heart of the system. Its resistance changes with temperature: the thermometer above is the indicator on the dashboard. This diagram represents how the system works, using a voltage divider with the ECU.
