How to open a car with a passive entry system when the key battery is flat?

In vehicles equipped with a keyless entry system, which allows you to open the car without pressing any buttons on the key, simply having the key in hand or in your pocket is sufficient. If the remote key battery is flat, you can still open the car using the emergency key located inside the remote key. Use this key to lever open the plastic cover next to the door handle.

Once this small plastic cover is removed, you will have access to the traditional lock, which can be opened with the emergency key.
