How to Repair the Door Actuator by Cleaning the Switch

Lift the panel without disconnecting the cables and inspect the actuator that operates the lock. The switch sends the signal to the actuator and is integrated into the mechanical lock or mounted near the handle. Look for the component with the electrical connectors attached to the locking mechanism and check: are there any damaged or corroded wires? Dirt? Broken wires? Cleaning the switch is the crucial phase; disconnect the electrical connector and spray contact cleaner generously into the lock opening and on the locking mechanism from the inside. Move the key repeatedly in the lock and manually operate the lever in the lock from the inside to distribute the cleaner, then let it sit for a few minutes.
