What is the remapping of a control unit? It is the modification of the software of our control unit, and we do it to get more power, or to customize the behavior of the car, or we do it when we replace important components, such as the turbine for example, for which we have to adapt the software to the new component . The control unit is the brain of the machine, which receives inputs from sensors and operates actions by means of the actuators. By changing the mapping we do nothing but change the way in which the control unit does things with the same signal received. It goes without saying that remapping the control unit is a very delicate operation, and must be done by companies with proven experience and effectiveness; a bad modification can cause serious trouble.

Fiat Ducato 2.8 JTD gearbox oil replacement

Let's see in this guide the main steps to be able to change the transmission oil of the second series Fiat Ducato, with 2.8 JTD engine. First of all we lift the car and go to locate the gear oil vent bolt, which we find near the transmission; we use a hex wrench to unscrew it, letting it drain the old oil in a container for about ten minutes. At this point we open the bonnet and remove the air intake sleeve, so as to be able to access the gearbox oil filling hole; then we fill up to the maximum level!
