Here are some interesting facts about car brands: starting with Abarth, a historic brand that has existed for many years. Abarth is the surname of the brand's founder, Carlo Abarth, who chose the scorpion symbol due to his zodiac sign. The yellow and red are the colours of South Tyrol and the city of Merano, his region and birthplace. Alfa Romeo: the shield with the red cross on a white background, symbolising the municipality of Milan, and the biscione, symbol of the Sforza family, lords of Milan. BMW is an acronym for Bayerische Motoren Werke: it originally produced aircraft engines and only later began manufacturing cars. The logo is essentially a propeller, and its colours represent Bavaria. Citroën: originally a gear manufacturer, founded in 1919 by André Citroën, its two symbols are stylised helical gears. Lamborghini: Ferruccio Lamborghini was a Taurus, hence the bull on the emblem. This company initially produced tractors, but after a dispute with Enzo Ferrari, decided to also produce supercars, all named after bulls.
