Steering sensors are digital and play an important safety role for the car. It is called a steering angle sensor because it measures the steering input angle. Essentially, when you steer, the steering column is connected to the torque sensor, which measures and records the angular movements of the column and communicates them to the control unit. The steering sensor is located around the steering column itself, and to replace it, you need to dismantle the steering column, then remove the stem and slide it out from the column while disconnecting the electrical power connector.
