The reasons why the ESP warning light turns on.

Let's take a look at an overview of why the ESP (or ESC/DSC/VSC depending on the manufacturer) light comes on in our vehicle: a steady light indicates that the system is turned off or has detected a fault that prevents it from functioning; a flashing light, especially in a curve or during acceleration, tells us that the system is active and is intervening to correct a loss of traction. The reasons for a steady light can be a faulty wheel speed sensor (which is the most common cause); a faulty steering angle sensor (often associated with the deactivation of the electronic power steering); a faulty yaw sensor (which is an uncommon fault); a faulty ABS/ESP module, meaning the control unit that processes all the data: it then operates in degraded mode, without some functions. It can also be a problem related to wheels of significantly different diameters if the vehicle uses indirect TPMS.
