In this video, we will see what could be the main reasons why the engine light comes on in our vehicle: the first could be a loose or damaged fuel cap. In fact, it is designed so that fuel vapors cannot escape, and if this happens, the sensors detect it as a problem. The second reason could be faulty oxygen sensors, which are responsible for monitoring emissions. They are located in the exhaust pipe, before the catalytic converter, and are subject to being covered with exhaust elements, causing damage. The third problem could be directly related to the catalytic converter, which is used to reduce polluting emissions from the exhaust; if acceleration is slow and black smoke comes out of the exhaust, then it should be checked. The fourth problem could be the mass air flow sensor, which measures the amount of air entering the engine, determining the fuel flow to be delivered: symptoms include jerky acceleration, engine stalling, and excessive fuel consumption. Lastly, we have the ignition coil, which transforms the 12-volt impulse into the one necessary for the engine to operate: it can cause spark plug wear and difficulties starting the engine.

How to Open the Bonnet on the Lancia Y

To open the bonnet on this vehicle, follow these simple instructions: first, open the driver's door and locate the lever positioned just below the dashboard, marked with an image of the vehicle with the bonnet open. Pull this lever towards you until you hear a "click" indicating the bonnet is released. Next, exit the cabin and stand in front of the bonnet to disengage the safety catch and complete the opening. To do this, slightly lift the bonnet, locate the yellow lever underneath, and pull it to the left to fully release and open the bonnet.
