(Various brands) Various - Video tutorial

Model: (Various brands) Various
Part: V-belt
Operation: What to do if the alternator belt squeals.

If the alternator belt makes noise or whistles, it almost certainly means that the bearings need lubricating. Here we see it on a Fiat Ducato motorhome, but the procedure to follow is more or less the same for every type of vehicle. Let's follow it together with our YouTuber. We will need to remove the plastic undercarriage protection by removing the bolts that hold it in place. We find the alternator, water pump, and engine. We need to clean the bearings and lubricate the belt - this keeps it soft. This operation must be done periodically to keep the service belt always efficient, because even if it is protected by the undercarriage, it will always tend to receive debris, water, etc. Always spray silicone spray, never grease or WD40, as this would make things worse. The belt would tend to slip and cause damage. Do it with the engine running at idle, lifting it safely and always wearing safety glasses.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
