If a red light with a battery symbol appears on your vehicle's dashboard, the issue is not with the battery but with the alternator or the alternator belt. It is the alternator and the movement of the belt that keeps the battery charged and powers everything electrical in the vehicle. When you start the engine, the belt spins the alternator at a much higher speed than the engine and produces current. If the light comes on, it means the alternator is not producing enough current to charge the battery or is not producing any at all. It could also be that a worn belt cannot make all the turns the alternator needs; if it is a drive belt that also powers the water pump, it is very dangerous as it could even cause the engine to overheat. The solution is to turn off all electrical devices to allow the battery to get you to the nearest garage where you can have the damage repaired.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
