What Does the Red Battery Warning Light Mean?

When you see the red battery warning light on your vehicle, the issue is not a flat battery, as it may seem. Your car is indicating that the battery is not charging. Therefore, all the electronics in the vehicle are running solely on the battery, and the alternator, which should be charging it, is not functioning, or the drive belt has snapped. Check the engine. If the belt is still intact, then the problem is likely the alternator. If the belt is broken, you need to replace it. The V-belt only powers the alternator, while larger belts are multifunctional; if it is not powering the alternator, it likely won't power the power steering or air conditioning either. If this is the case, you might want to find a mechanic or parts supplier to get a replacement belt for your vehicle, so you can change it without tools. Alternatively, you can try to reach your destination using the battery, but this depends on the battery's efficiency and the type of car you have. A newer vehicle uses a lot of electronics and will require much more power than an older vehicle.

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
