Operation: Why are cars equipped with AdBlue?

In this video, we see the reason why modern cars are equipped with AdBlue: they must comply with an emissions regulation called EURO 6, which sets the maximum limit that can only be met through the use of SCR technology and the addition of the additive. If a small cap (usually blue) is added to our vehicle, located near the diesel cap, it means that it is equipped for this additive. Sometimes, however, the filler neck is found in the engine or in the trunk. The consumption of the additive is related to the vehicle's fuel consumption and driving style, but on average, it takes 1 to 3 liters of AdBlue every 1000 km, and there is a specific warning light that indicates when it is running low. The tank can hold an average of 5 to 10 liters of additive, depending on the vehicle. We advise that the best way to prevent crystallization is to always keep the AdBlue tank as full as possible and not wait until it is running low to refuel.
