In this video, you will learn how to choose a suitable roof box for your car; they can be either rigid or soft and may have multiple locks. The box should be flexible enough to absorb shocks. The anchoring to the bars is done through two systems: either with metal brackets that wrap around the bars from underneath, or with clamps that tighten from above onto the bar; this system is safer and easier and quicker to install. When there is only one lock, it is always positioned on the passenger side, allowing you to empty the boot even from the roadside. Naturally, for each vehicle, there are boxes suitable for its dimensions, and you cannot purchase boxes that are too large, as they would prevent the rear hatch from opening. It is very important that the box is reinforced at the bottom to allow the vehicle to travel safely up to the maximum speed allowed on the motorway. Soft boxes are ideal for those who cannot store the boxes in a garage or cellar, as when closed, they take up the same space as an ironing board.
